Gaylord Nelson (Earth Day Founder) Would be Proud

by TMT Directory

Earth Day founder Gaylord Nelson, a Senator of Wisconsin during the 60’s, would be proud today.

In what is supposed to be a capitalistic market where the businesses go the nation is sure to follow and with the fact that not only as a nation are we going “green” and are becoming more aware of our environment, but as a workforce 53% of Employers in the US deploy Green Programs - a substantial increase from last year.

According to recent research from Buck Consultants, not only have 53% of the U.S. Employers enacted green practices in their workplace, but 72% of green practices can be contributed to Human Resources and the communication associated with its' practices.

Recognizing the recent trends in businesses going “Green” RecruitingTrends.com will be hosting a live webinar to be held on April 22, 1 PM – 2 PM EST – Earth Day 2010.

Following the recent trends in recruiting - and in almost every aspect of life and business, it’s good to be green - not only environmentally but culturally as well. More and more companies are finding themselves going “green” in support of this trend and are effectively branding themselves as a Green company. Companies tout their environmental initiatives in annual reports, core values, community activities, and even advertising, yet companies often fail to leverage their environmental efforts in one key area: and that's recruiting. Meaning they are missing a key opportunity, because as studies show, a commitment to environmentalism and sustainability can be a factor when the most desirable candidates weigh their options when choosing an employer.

According to the Buck study, going "green" in the workplace can lead to more green in the bank - it is common knowledge that operating and organizing properly can lead to success for any organization - and more importantly a critical factor of success for green initiatives and the overall workforce/workplace achievement is leadership. In this webinar Lizz Pellet will explore how employers can make sure their sustainability practices and employment brand are inline with their organizational culture and core values.

Take in this opportunity to learn:

·         How to fold the green message in internal communications and external branding efforts

·         Why you must include sustainability into your Employee Value Proposition (EVP)

·         How to aligning core values with a sustainability program

·         How to leverage Green in your employment brand to attract, retain and repel the right “fit”
